If you are suffering from pain associated with TMJ, our Hoboken neuromuscular dentists can help you find the relief you desire. Dr. Frank has extensive training in neuromuscular dentistry, the field that focuses on alignment issues with your jaw. He is currently earning his fellowship at the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), the premier cosmetic and neuromuscular training institution in the nation.

All of our treatments are non-surgical. We will always use the most conservative method possible to help return your bite to its natural position and relieve your painful TMJ symptoms. Our dentists will perform a thorough occlusal evaluation to determine any alignment issues with your bite before recommending the appropriate treatment methods to correct your condition. Please call 877-792-7979 today to schedule your consultation at our Hoboken dental office.

Your TMJ treatment will seek to accomplish two goals. First we will work to relieve the pain associated with your TMJ symptoms. Then we will work towards a more long term solution by restoring your bite to its ideal resting position.

Pain relief can be achieved using nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin or ibuprofen. Muscle relaxants are also effective, especially for people who regularly grind their teeth.

We offer four levels of treatment to help you achieve long term relief by restoring a balanced bite. Depending on the severity of your TMJ disorder, Dr. Frank may recommend one of the following treatments:

  • ComfortGuard – Your ComfortGuard will be worn at night to provide comfort to your teeth, joints, and muscles while you sleep.
  • Full-time removable neuromuscular orthotic – This device is worn 24 hours a day. Dr. Frank uses 3D imaging, TENS therapy, and the K7 system to ensure a proper fit.
  • Fixed orthotic – This device is constructed from a material similar to the composite material used in white fillings, ensuring that it will look like your natural teeth. Your fixed orthotic is worn 24 hours a day and is very comfortable.
  • Finishing options – Orthodontic treatment or dental restorations may be used to move your bite into proper alignment.
