The American Dental Association, your dentist, and even most dental insurance companies recommend you see the dentist twice a year for cleanings and examinations. Almost all dental insurance plans cover these visits 100%. The Practice at Maxwell Place is a fee-for-service, out-of-network provider for most insurance plans. While payment for service is due at the time of your appointment, we will be happy to file an electronic claim for reimbursement with your insurer.

Oral health issues typically begin small. Things like a minor crack, a small section of decay, or a slight reddening of the gums may escape notice at home. And because these issues likely won’t pose any discomforts in their initial stages, it is often too late to save a tooth or prevent a more invasive procedure when symptoms do finally appear. Routine visits to our office can help you avoid these issues.

Common Oral Health Issues

Some common oral health issues that we can detect during routine visits include:

  • Tooth Decay
  • Tooth Infection
  • Gum Disease
  • Oral Cancer
  • Bruxism

Routine visits allow us to assess the strength and structure of each tooth in your mouth. They also allow us to inspect for problems with the jaw joint and bite. These close evaluations enable us to provide swift treatment when problems arise, helping to prevent major issues that can require more progressive treatment options.

National Dental Care Month

May is National Dental Care Month. If it has been longer than six months since your last visit to the dentist, give us a call at 201-792-9400 to schedule an appointment right away. We maintain extended office hours Monday through Thursday to accommodate the needs of Hoboken’s busy families. We are also open on Saturdays for appointments and emergency services.

You can help keep your teeth and gums at peak health by using a soft-bristle toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste to brush after every meal. Be sure to floss at least once a day to maintain optimal oral health. During your routine visits, we can assess your at-home routine and provide suggestions to help ensure you are getting the most out of your daily and annual oral hygiene routines.
