Aligning crooked teeth used to mean metal braces and the inconvenience, food restrictions, and special hygiene requirements that went along with them. But today’s patients have a much more attractive option in the form of Invisalign. Invisalign is the revolutionary orthodontic treatment that straightens your teeth using clear plastic aligners, providing you with a much more comfortable and discrete orthodontics solution.

Unlike traditional metal braces which are permanently affixed to your teeth, Invisalign uses a series of removable transparent aligners to gently move your teeth. Most patients wear each aligner for about two weeks before discarding it and switching to the next in the sequence.

Each series of Invisalign aligners is custom-designed and fitted to your mouth. A typical Invisalign treatment plan may require roughly 25 individual aligners. The first in the sequence moves your teeth slightly toward their new position, the next a little closer, and so on, until you reach the final aligner in the series, which moves your teeth to their final, permanent positions.

Invisalign aligners are meant to be worn full-time, but you can easily remove them for meals and to brush and floss your teeth. And because they’re virtually invisible, nobody has to know you’re undergoing orthodontic treatment!

If the discomfort and unsightliness of traditional braces have caused you to postpone orthodontic treatment, it’s time to take a look at Invisalign. To learn more, please contact The Practice at Maxwell Place, today to schedule an appointment in our Hoboken cosmetic dentistry office.
